Contact, tip-offs and interviews
Got a story, a correction, a document or an appointment we should know about? Email tips@waterwire.co.uk. For interview requests and everything else, editor@waterwire.co.uk. We protect sources.
Editorial standards
- Original sources first. Every factual claim links to the regulator, government document or company statement it comes from, not to a rewrite. Where a wire story is only reachable via an aggregator, we say so.
- Summarise and link, never republish. Our summaries are in our own words; quotes are short and attributed.
- No invented specifics. We don't state unsourced figures. Any visual that isn't sourced data is labelled Illustrative.
- Fair and separate. We give the relevant sides in their strongest form and keep opinion clearly separate from reporting.
Corrections
We correct errors promptly and visibly: a correction note on the page, never a silent edit. To report an inaccuracy, email editor@waterwire.co.uk with the link and what's wrong. We will reply.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help scan sources, draft summaries and make illustrations. AI does not decide what runs and nothing is published unchecked: the editor verifies every fact and link before publication. Illustrations made with AI are credited as such, and we never use AI to fabricate photographs, quotes or people.
Ownership, funding and commercial interests
The Water Wire is published by Deliver Better. Our coverage is decided on editorial grounds alone. Where funding or a relationship is relevant to a story, we disclose it.
